Transportation

Airports
There are several daily flights between Aarhus Airport (www.aar.dk) and Copenhagen Airport. The flight Copenhagen-Aarhus takes 35 minutes. In Copenhagen, a free transit bus links the International and the domestic airport terminals.

Aarhus Airport, located 40 km north of the city, offers direct international flight connections to Oslo, Stockholm, Gothenburg and London/Stanstead.

Billund Airport (www.billund-airport.dk), located 100 km south of Aarhus, has direct international flight connections to, for instance, Barcelona, Birmingham, Düsseldorf, Edinburgh, Frankfurt, Faroe Islands, Gothenburg, Helsinki, London/Gatwick, London/Stanstead, Madrid, Milano, München, Oslo, Prag, Reykjavik, and Stockholm.

There is bus service to Aarhus city from both airports. Travel time from Aarhus Airport to the city of Aarhus is 45 minutes (one way ticket ca. DKK 90) and from Billund Airport to Aarhus 1.5 hours (one way ticket ca. DKK 180). Taxi service is also available.

Trains
There are direct hourly train services from Copenhagen Airport to Aarhus. The journey takes 3.5 hours (one way ticket approximately DKK 350). For bookings and time tables, please see (www.dsb.dk).

By car or ferry
Aarhus is only a 3-hour drive from Hamburg and motorway links are excellent. Getting from one end of Denmark to the other is easy, whether by car or by ferry. It is possible to go directly by car from Copenhagen to Aarhus by crossing the Great Belt Bridge – the drive takes approx. 2½ hours. Or you can go by ferry from the ports of either Odden-Ebeltoft or Odden-Aarhus.

From Britain and the Scandinavian countries, there are good ferry-links to a number of cities and towns in Denmark, from which there are excellent motorways to Aarhus.

Aarhus City Busses
The city bus system in Aarhus is very efficient. Yellow busses depart approximately every 15 minutes from around 6 a.m. to midnight. Busses stop close to the university.
